2024

The 4th International week at P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia

The P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia, as usual, organised the 4th International Week in autumn from 23 to 27 September 2024.

The main theme of this week was well-being, sharing experiences and making new contacts.
Together with colleagues from Lithuania (Šiauliai State Higher Education Institution, Panevėžio kolegija/State Higher Education Institution), Estonia (TTK University of Applied Sciences), Bulgaria (Medical University - Plovdiv) and Belgium (HBO Verpleegkunde Genk Atlas College VZW) we shared experiences on well-being from different perspectives - in healthcare and social well-being.

Various activities took place throughout the week. Participants shared information about the institution and country they represent. In the form of discussions we got to know the study processes, how they are organised in the partner universities. Some of the participants were in Latvia for the first time, so everything was new and surprising. We took a sun-drenched cruise on the Lielupe River with the magnificent www.sekosaulei.lv raft terrace and visited the Paul Jaunzems Stone Sculpture Park.

Colleagues from Lithuania, Šiaulai gave lectures to students of the study programme "Social Rehabilitation" and later got to know Jūrmala. Colleagues from Estonia and Bulgaria visited the cooperation partners SAC "SenRīga", toured the Old Town and the Museum of the University of Latvia.

To get to know more about Latvia, we headed towards Valmiera, where we visited the Valmiermuiža Brewery and the Līga Salon in Trikata.
The week in Jurmala continued with active activities - chyromassage, dance therapy and guests from the Latvian Samaritan Association charity project "Dream Assistant".

On the final day, colleagues received certificates and mutual agreements on visits were signed. The Erasmus+ programme unites us and improves us!
