The 1st International week at P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia

September 2017 will be special in the history book of the P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia, since the first international week was organized in college between 18 and 22 September, with the tasks of introducing visitors to college and Latvia, promoting the exchange of experience and promoting the successful organization of mobilities. During the week, the college hosted partners from Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Sweden and Germany.

In the opening of the important event, the guests were welcomed by the University of Latvia's vice-rector in the field of physical, life and medical sciences Valdis Segliņš, the college director Ilga Eriņa and the dean of the University of Latvia's Medical faculty, Valdis Folkmanis. The first day of the international week was continued with guests presenting their universities and representative institutions. The college's international coordinator Aiga Grauduma introduced guests with the college.

During the international week, teachers from co-operation partner schools in Europe managed lectures and practice sessions for college students, “Radiologist assistant”, “Podology”, “Social care” and “Social rehabilitation” as well as meetings were organized with representatives of the administration and lecturers of the P. Stradins Medical College and visits to college partner institutions - places of student practice.

The guests participated in two masterclasses where they had the opportunity to find out what the couching is and how to apply its methods in practice while the second lesson took the first steps in Latvian. On tours of Old Riga, Sigulda and Līgatne, guests met with the architecture, cities and beautiful nature of Latvia.

At the end of the 1st international week of the P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia, a summary of the progress made during the week was carried out, guests commented on the results of the activities, made proposals for the successful development of future cooperation. Participants welcomed the program of the week demonstrating that valuable experience was gained and the week was rich in positive feelings.
